It's hard to believe. Time flys.

It's hard to believe. Time flys.

8.27.10

It's been two weeks since my last post, but a lot has happened since then.

Two weeks ago Ava was one upper tooth strong, immobile, gracefully discovering she sort-of liked food, a little restless at night, and of course genuinely happy during the day. However, it wasn't but a few days after my post that our lives began to once again change causing another whirlwind. And yes, those happen frequently the first year of a baby's life.

Today Ava has a mouth full of teeth (4 upper, 2 lower), went from sitting to crawling, and eats about anything we put in front of her. It's hard to believe so much can happen in such a short amount of time. I literally blinked and she was off and crawling. I'm sure I'll blink again and she'll be walking. (Cause she loves to roam from couch to couch by her self.)

I think Clark and I can now explain why we've all been so tired lately. Our little baby is growing like a weed which sometimes means restless nights for everyone. I wonder what the weeks ahead will bring. Yikes!

Our adventures with sweet Ava

8.13.10

Hello friends:
I've been trying to blog Ava's story since we had her last September 2009, but as you can see it's August and that hasn't exactly happened other than my attempt in April at her 6mo mark. I had good intentions of posting pictures, updating you on the latest milestones, and noting the victories along the way. But the craziness of being a working mom & wife, balancing a household with little sleep, and having fun along the way with our little girl blogging just hasn't happened. BUT...I'm determined to start NOW!

So....
Even though I haven't done a good job of doing this the last 11months ... I'm going to attempt to get my act in gear and keep you updated on the adventures and life of sweet little Ava or as she's sometimes known "Pookie".

Over the last 11months we've experienced Dr's visits, shots, crazy sleeping patterns, spit up, sitting up, yellow-green poop, and many others. The more recent activities have included experimenting with "real" food, teething (her first tooth popping through on vacation in July), skipping crawling to pulling up on the furniture, waving, high fives, babbling dadda and mamma (but mostly dadda), and rolling/ jumping/ and standing in her the crib. These have been exciting moments and ones I wouldn't trade experiencing for the world.

Ava is most certainly a sweet bundle of Joy! She really does wake up almost everyday with a smile and energy to "go,go,go". She LOVES people and watching them. Her little personality makes me wonder what kind of leader she'll be one day. It appears there's potential for her to be very social with her engaging at such a young age which is very exciting. Nothing better than her winning people over with her smile! Let's just pray she doesn't use that to win her dad over too much, but it's highly likely. He LOVES her smile!!

Even as the first year begins to wind down we certainly have many more milestones ahead of us. It's my intention to do a better job of keeping you informed and updated on what she's been up to.

It is most definitely a miracle to watch a baby grow and one you don't ever want rush. So, here's to Ava Lakaye and the adventures she brings in the days ahead. Enjoy the ride with us ... it is a great adventure!
