Ava's First Easter

3.4.10

My first blog of Ava begins at 6months of age. It takes about six months for your life to slow down enough for you to even consider blogging. Just kidding.

Easter Sunday.

We began our day as usual waking up around 7:30am. Ava was not particularly aware this was Easter Sunday and that we were celebrating anything special. All she knew was mom and dad were with her and there were some recognizable unusal looking things on the kitchen table. I got up at my usual 7am time and finished putting together easter baskets for Ava, Clark, and myself. I put muffins in the oven, got the baskets arranged from Gram and myself, and finished making her bottle. She woke up around 7:30 and our day began.

Clark and I picked out a cute green spring dress for her to wear and got it ironed. She didn't have a clue why she was wearing a dress, but she looked adoreable. We loaded her into the carseat with her white bow (as big as her head) and headed off to the 10am service at church.
We made it to church in a timely manner, but all you can say is we attempted Easter. With the seats being packed from front to back. Ava, though cute, wasn't exactly interested in the sermon. So as it turned out we worshipped our Risen Lord while Ava was passed around to friends showing off her cute dress and then we gave up our seats to guests and headed home. It was exhausting for the effort, but worth it for her to experience Easter for the first time. Or maybe it was more for us than for her. :)

Her first Easter will always be known as "attempted" not exactly spiritual, but I'm pretty sure God is ok with that.
